The All Blacks Sevens have returned to Hong Kong this week for the first time since 2019, to kick off the 2022/23 World Series.
Led by captain Sam Dickson, the side is looking for their first Hong Kong crown since 2014. The team have a tough pool assignment, facing Samoa first up followed by home team Hong Kong and trans-Tasman rivals Australia.
Newly introduced from World Rugby players will no longer don the traditional 1-13 numbers, instead picking a number (between 1-99) that they keep throughout the season.
Fans will notice Brady Rush in the number 2 jersey, worn so long by his father, and All Blacks Sevens legend, Eric.
Many players have stuck with the numbers we have regularly seen them in, Kurt Baker with 10 and captain Sam Dickson in 7, while Regan Ware and Sione Molia will wear numbers 64 and 27 respectively, numbers holding a special meaning to the players.
